Entrance Mats & Grids: Design with Elements in Mind

Program Description:

Educate Architects on the ideal way of incorporating entrance flooring into commercial buildings in order to promote a safe and clean environment. The course explains codes, regulations and guidelines specifically related to entrance flooring systems for high-traffic entrances in healthcare, education, transportation, corporate and other commercial settings.

 

Learning Objectives:

- What entrance flooring systems are and why is it needed?

Issues related to building maintenance costs, slip/fall accidents, rolling loads, environmental considerations and aesthetic considerations.

-  Problems that can occur in a commercial building if the wrong flooring is selected.

-Solutions for minimizing maintenance costs,  slip/fall accidents, rolling loads, environmental considerations and aesthetic considerations by choosing the right entrance  flooring system.   

ABOUT OUR PRESENTER

Speaker Biography:

Betsy Otken Barnes is the CMO and Director of Architectural Sales for Avallone Architectural Specialties. She is responsible representing Construction Specialties' (CS) complete line of interior and exterior products throughout Mississippi and Louisiana, providing accredited AIA CEUs to architects and designers, exploring solutions to design and installation challenges, providing spec writing and takeoffs and assistance as needed. With over 500 patents, CS's the founder Edward Hallock, the inventor of Interior Wall Protection , which is now led by the second generation in manufacturing.
